What Is This Blog All About?
When I tell people I am going to school to become a Physical Therapist the common responses usually range from "is that a certificate?" to "oh great then you can give me some amazing back massages?" Comments and questions like these have made me realize that many people both in and out of the health care world don't really understand the value of a Physical Therapist. This lack of understanding about what Physical Therapist's really do has led to under appreciation and under utilization of the field as a whole. This use to frustrate me however, in the last few years I have decided that I want to become a voice for Physical Therapists. This blog is a way for me to advocate for the world of physical therapy. I believe that advocating includes educating people about what Physical Therapists do, keeping up and giving opinions on what is going on in the world of physical therapy, and giving advice to anyone who may be interested in the field of physical therapy. There is so much more to Physical Therapy than joint mobilizations and exercise and helping people learn that will mobilize Physical Therapy as a profession forward in the world.
